This weekend (when I was planning on making stuff for some trades/exchanges) I got myself a little distracted by my half-made collages from the previous weekend. All I need to do now is sew them to cards or journals or whatever. Feels good to have got them to this point and they were a lot of fun - I just sat down with some stamped and printed images, a pile of Ann Lawton's (from Esperance, Western Australia) handmade paper and my collage scrap box and fiddled with them until I liked the result. Added some stitching a little embellishment. Very therapeutic.
The theme at Mixed Media Monday this week is "numbers" which is very convenient seeing as some of my weekend collages include numbers. The one at the top of this post is my contribution on this theme. The numbers come from a bingo card scrap.
Zach (my 17 year old son) and I watched "The Kite Runner" movie on Saturday and it really was good but of course the book was so much better (so much more depth and detail). Very moving though and really makes me appreciate my life. On the weekend I made the mistake of starting a new book - Elizabeth Berg's "Never Change" - and of course couldn't go to sleep last night until I finished it! Well worth reading - she has a wonderful way with her characters - they feel so real. I've been fiddling with some other stuff so hopefully will have something finished to share soon. Have a great week!

Great idea to use a bingo card with the number theme. Love the heart on your image. The other pieces you made were fabulous!! Stitching adds such a wonderful accent!
Fantastic work hun well done xxx
You are a woman after my own heart. I thought "The Kite Runner" was better in book form and I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Berg's books. Your artwork is fantastic and I'm so glad that you participated in this challenge so that I discovered you! I'm always in awe of those who "stitch".
All the pieces are beautiful. Of course, being partial to purple, I love your MMM challenge piece. It is lovely.
all are fabulous!! great use of colours!!
Fabulous artwork.
both of these are really gorgeous pieces. you did great with what I found difficult!
I have given you an award for your blog, the details are on mine. :)
Lovely pieces, can't pick a favourite as I think they're all gorgeous!
Superb work - love the images!
Debbi, your collages are all wonderful - I think I need some "collage therapy" too, grin! Diane
Lovely card collages Debbi! I just finished reading The Kite Runner, I want to see the film too, but I usually find the books better than the films, they have to leave so much out of the movie adaptations.
I'm totally loving all the Numbered goodness!!
I will also see if I can check out the movie, because by the time my H reads the book - It will be xmas 2010!!
beautiful. i love the color. it looks so unique!
Those collage pieces are gorgeous Debbi!
You sound like me with your reading, I go through a book in a couple of days. Just finished reading the final book in the Stephanie Meyer series and it was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Your artwork is fantasmargorical Debbi - from another frazzled mind!
Oh, they are all just gorgeous...although that purple one is especially striking.
(EB's books are like that, arent they?)
Can't pick one, they are all gorgeus, so beautiful!
Love the colour combo for the mmm piece. It's a fabulous collage, Debbi!
Very stunning image for you numbers piece. I love all of your collages, the stitching just adds something great to them!
They are really beautiful!
I think all your collages were just wonderful. Love the stitching!
Lovely collages , Debbi, sounds as if you had a great relaxing time making them. My DD said the same about the film, but isn't that always the case when you've read the book.
