Public Holiday Mondays are the Best!

It is an absolutely beautiful day here today - fairly hot but just perfect for a public holiday. While Joseph worked in the garden I indulged myself with some more fabric painting/dyeing experiments and some paper crafts. Needless to say the fabric dried very quickly. I was experimenting with my version of colouring fabric by using a large sheet of plastic laminate (the leftovers from the local print firm), water and Genesis Creations' Sheer Radiance liquid colours - sort of manipulated monoprinting. I used rock salt on some of the pieces and varied how damp I made my fabric. Great fun of course and now I also have some nicely coloured muslin and paper towels as well from the mopping up part of the process. These are some of the results.

The picture at the top is of my second page in Jo's Diamond Book. I used a large harlequin background stamp, a calligraphy stamp, a texture stamp and I also stamped with paint and a harlequin patterned heart made of grungeboard. As usual you can't really see much of the background but it does add depth.

And now I had better get on with things as there is so much else I want to do today!
